Several factors go into your decision. What will you be using the ebike for (Hunting, Campsite Vehicle, Commuter, City biking, Trails, Hills). Are you more interesting in speed than how far you can go? We can answer these for you.
Our eBikes can go 20 to 40 miles an hour depending on the motor and battery. The LEGAL speed limit in most states is 18 MPH. We also advise that faster than that is an unnecessary risk.
No. You do not need a license, tags, or registration to ride an eBike. Most states require the rider to be at least 15 years old. We can advise a good bike for students
It is an electric BIKE. Take all precautions you would with any other bike. Wear a helmet. Ride under control. Obey traffic laws, lights, and signs. Protect the bike from water. Keep a bike lock with you. And, we advise you not try to make repairs to the motor, controller, battery or wiring.
An eBike has the same maintenance concerns that a normal bike has. Check the tires, chain, nuts and bolts on a regular schedule. AND - the owner of an eBike will need to keep the battery charged according to instructions. A Battery may take 4 to 6 hours to charge. Don't forget! Be READY for that next ride.
Your First Service is FREE. We build eBikes and can handle service and repairs on most bikes. Some online bikes may have proprietary components. Another reason to buy local. We have batteries, kits, tires, tubes, disc brakes, and other items on hand or can order anything needed.
Most eBikes will come with reflectors front and back. You can add in-spoke reflectors. A Fat Tire bike looks and rides great! You can add a headlight, brake light, new seat, or rear rack if not already included. A nice bag might be added to the handlebars or under the seat for food or phone. A water bottle holder is a must. A small set of bike tools would be handy as well.
